Sheryl Ann Hodge (nee Jones) passed away at Mercy Anderson Hospital on Monday morning, July 11, 2022. She was born on April 16, 1939. She was the only daughter of Walter and Ila Jones of Muncie,Indiana. She leaves behind a brother Jeff in Muncie, Indiana and 2 children, Michelle Thomakos (nee Mart) and Michael Mart (wife: Julie) in Cold Spring, Kentucky. Sheryl was a modern woman before there were modern women. She was a single mom who raised 2 children. She worked 5 jobs in those first few years after her divorce, including being the administrative assistant for one of the Hamilton County Commissioners. She maintained her home in Anderson Twp. and provided every opportunity for her children to succeed. She eventually got her real estate license and subsequently became a broker and started her own Real Estate company in Mt. Adams. SJM Realtors was a mainstay in Mt. Adams for over 25 years before she closed her office and continued her Real Estate business until she was 80 years old. Sheryl loved animals and working in her yard. She leaves behind her cats and a beautiful yard. She was always taking in strays that would come to her house in Mt. Washington. She would either adopt them or help them find homes through the local animal shelters. She also had names for all the squirrels, chipmunks, racoons and opossums. We miss her dearly, but take solace in knowing that she is now with the lord and those loved ones who preceded her in passing. At her request, a private family service will be held.
