Russell E. "Rusty" Turcotte, Jr., 74, of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 in the comfort of his home after an illness.
He leaves his beloved wife of 54 years, Judith L. (Cantwell) Turcotte; their children, Jeff Turcotte and his girlfriend Becky Fila, of Southwick, Kim Sicurella and her husband John Kenneth Sicurella, of Auburn, Amy Hesselton and her husband Kevin, of Leicester; their grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, and Emily Turcotte, Haley Norris, and Tyler and Kyle Hesselton; his dog, Sophie; and his beloved "grand-dogs."
"Pop," as he was lovingly known to his children and grandchildren, was born in Worcester to the late Russell E. Turcotte, Sr. and Ellen M. (McGrail) Turcotte. He was raised and educated in Auburn; Russell played hockey, football, and baseball at Auburn High School, graduating in 1965. He then attended and graduated from Worcester Junior College, with an Associate's degree in Business. In 1967, Russell and his beloved Judith were married, and settled in Auburn to start their family together.
He began his career at Madigan and Company in Worcester, working as a master brick mason. From there, he got his foot in the door of the automotive industry as a technician, working at Eddie's Auto & Truck, in Leicester, and Doe's Auto Body, in North Brookfield. Most recently, Russell worked as a manager for Fuller Automotive in Auburn, where he was well-loved by co-workers and clients alike.
In his free time, he helped with coaching Auburn's Little League teams. Russ also coached Ty Cobb Softball Teams, with one of his greatest moments winning the State Championship. He was also a coach and President of Midstate Youth Hockey for several years.
Russ was a lover of all Boston sports teams, NASCAR, but most especially, loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and their activities. He loved family vacations to Myrtle Beach and Florida. Russ will be greatly missed, but always in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Auburn Little League, P.O. Box 209, Auburn, MA 01501.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Turcotte family from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Service and burial will be held privately for his family.
