The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Ruby Lee Smith-Tyner of Americus, Georgia will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.
Ruby Lee Smith-Tyner, the matriarch of this family and a true beacon of love and strength, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on March 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and unwavering support.
Ruby was born on April 20, 1957, in Sumter County, Georgia to Clifford and Mae Lee Smith. Later in life, Ruby married Samuel Tyner Sr. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a cherished friend to countless others. Her life was a tapestry woven with threads of kindness, humor, great advice, love, and she touched the lives of all who knew her with her gentle spirit, and radical acceptance of people. Ruby found joy in listening to music and spending time with family. Her home was always a haven of comfort and love.
Ruby is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Samuel Tyner Sr., and two (2) of her grandsons Ty'Quavious and Jahaveon. She leaves to cherish her memories seven children: Don Smith, Christopher (Miraha) Smith, Samuel Tyner Jr. (Shanquetta Jackson), Jeffrey Johnson, Bryant Tyner, Keneisha Tyner (Kenneth Jordan) and Montravis Tyner (Gayla Lockhart) all of Americus, Georgia; four siblings: Betty Smith, Henry (Pearl) Smith, Rosa Peavy, and Dennis Smith all of Americus, Georgia; three sisters-in-law: Bertha Mae Tyner, Viola Tyner, and Corene Tyner; twenty (20) grandchildren: Danielle Smith, Christopher Smith Junior, Dontrevious Denmark, Shykeria Brown, De'Tyler Foster-Smith, Disaya Smith, Cassidy Smith, Jakayla Cherry, Demariyah Fuller, Zariah Bell, Zaiden Bell, Ariana Jordan, Brayden Tyner, Breasia Tyner, JaQuavious Tyner, NiGeria Tyner, ShaMiryhia Tyner, Montravis Tyner Jr., McKinley Tyner and Azyion Waters; daughter-in-love, Catherine Foster; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives.
