Pauline Adler Obituary

Pauline (nee Sutera), 92, of Paramus, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, following six years living with Alzheimer's. While the disease took her final years, her life was one of creativity, kindness and quiet strength.
Her love for her family was limitless. She attended every game, meet and competition, cheering on her children whether they came in first or last. She found great joy in her nearly 50-year marriage to her husband Donald. She loved tennis, old movies, and cooking for her family. She and Donald treasured their annual "snowbird" trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with a huge group of friends.
Pauline began her career in the film industry as a colorist working on Felix the Cat, among other cartoons. She left the workforce to raise her children and returned years later as a secretary in the Paramus Police Department, where she stayed 25 years until her retirement.
With a loving heart and beautiful spirit, she welcomed family and friends to her home for holidays, late night chats and special occasions. Beautiful, talented, and fun, Pauline was always ready to lend a hand or support a friend. She will be greatly missed.
Predeceased by her cherished husband Donald, Pauline is survived by her children, Donna Sturchio and her husband Larry, Tim Adler, and Christine Toohey and her husband John. She was a treasured grandmother to Samantha, Nicholas, Rachel, Madeline, Gabrielle, Grayson, Olivia, Matthew and great-grandson, Asher, and dear sister of Josephine Hughes.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church 234 N, Farview Avenue Paramus, NJ. Cremation will be held privately.
