Patrick Joseph Barron Obituary

Obituary
Patrick John Joseph Barron, Jr.
(AKA {especially to youngsters, whom he challenged to remember it} Patrick John Joseph Peter Alexander Michael William Francis Allen Richard Barron, the second.)
Patrick was born on August 20, 1946, in Boston, MA, to Patrick Joseph Barron and Agnes Josephine Ryan Barron. In 1983, he married Elaine Elisabeth Adolf.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine; brothers Harold Barron, of Minneapolis, MN, James (Diana Downey) Barron, of Stoughton, MA, Allen Barron, of Baltimore, MD, and sister Marie Burns, of Winthrop, MA. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and by brothers Leo Barron, Ronald Barron, Kenneth Barron, William Barron and Robert Barron, and by his stepdaughter, Joy Nolan Seibold Van Dyke.
Patrick graduated from South Boston High School, Franklin Institute of Electrical Design (AA), University of Redlands (BA), and Chapman University (teaching certificate). The primary employer of his career was Bechtel Construction Corp., building coal-fired power plants and nuclear generating stations in or near Holbrook, AZ; Hampton Beach, NH; San Clemente, CA; Sulphur, LA; Bay City, TX; Richland, WA; and Delta, UT. He had a brief teaching career in Hemet and San Jacinto, CA, and subsequently retired to become a wonderful house husband.
Patrick was a member of Roman Catholic and Lutheran churches in his various places of residence.
Patrick was a memorable man, unafraid to "make waves", but easily making friends with all ages, genders, races, and religions and eager to learn about others, especially people different from him. He was generous and passionate about helping others. He was loved by many, and he loved many.
He also had a very quiet side. He loved stream fishing, even when he was not successful. He loved gardening and acted like a kid in a candy store when he entered a plant nursery. He loved creating unusual floral arrangements. He loved studying ants. He loved appreciating and collecting art. He loved collecting coins and sharing his knowledge of them. He was a tournament chess player. He loved camping and traveling. He could be called "a man for all seasons".
Patrick died on July 15, 2022, at Lutheran Collier Hospice in Wheatridge, CO, at age 75, after a long battle with prostate cancer. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Lord of the Hills Lutheran Church, 21755 E. Smoky Hill Rd., Centennial, CO 80015.
The service will be recorded on Zoom, and later posted on YouTube.
