Martha Jean (Stagner) Connell Click was born January 5, 1949, in Darien, Missouri. She was the daughter of Earl and Estella (Needy) Stagner. Martha was the blessed mother of five children: Cathy, Wesley, Becky, Jason, and Elijah.
Martha was a dedicated homemaker until her children were grown. She then obtained her Certified Nurse Assistant and Medical Tech certification and started working at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James. She was also an in-home health care worker for several years. Martha was a kind, compassionate, caring nurse who touched many lives.
Martha deeply loved her family. She was a dedicated mother who treasured every moment with her children. Her grandchildren were her world, and she played an active and joyful role in their lives. Her great-grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye, brought immense joy and laughter to her.
Martha was a lady of strong faith in the Lord. In 1975, she was saved at the Assembly of God Church, now known as Grace Community, where she still faithfully attended. She loved to read her Bible and when she couldn't physically attend, she made sure to watch it online. Her favorite verse was John 11:5, "Now Jesus loved Martha "
Martha passed away October 30, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, at that age of seventy-six years. She is survived by her children: Cathy Thompson of Chesterfield, MO, Wesley Connell and wife Dana of Salem, MO, Becky Hutchinson and husband Tony of Mountain View, MO, Jason Connell and wife Karen of Ashland, MO, and Elijah Connell of Troup, TX; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband: Lonnie Click; parents: Earl and Stella Stagner, sister: Earlene Fowler; and brothers: Donald, Edward, Delmar, and Louie Stagner.
Her presence was a constant source of warmth and support. She was a very good friend and had a way of talking to you that made you feel like the most important person in the world. Martha leaves a legacy of kindness, selflessness, and generosity that will live on in those who knew and loved her. She will forever be remembered.
