He was born on June 19, 1951 in Saginaw to the late Thomas and Margret Paulson.
Mark was a loving father whose passion was to help others and to listen to their needs. The simplest pleasures in life gave him great joy. He loved a quiet afternoon sitting on the porch, cup of coffee in hand, while listening to NPR radio. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities. He lived a very quiet life, but those who loved him got to experience his free spirit, his creativity, his softness, and the love and care he had for his children and his grandchildren.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Sharon Paulson (Machul), daughter, Yolanda Paulson (Albert Lerma), grandchildren, Jayce Ennis, Cole Ennis, Izzabella Lerma, Ariana Lerma, Zariyah Lerma, Luke Paulson, brothers, Thomas Paulson Jr., James Paulson and Jeff Paulson, lifetime friend, Matthew Hubbard and cousins in New Jersey and their families.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margret Paulson and son, Jeremy Paulson.
Service will be private. Arrangements in care of, Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron.

Mark Paulson was a Youth for Understanding (YFU) summer exchange student for three months at our home in Helsinki, Finland, in 1968. We enjoyed our time together, engaging in various activities.
As I embarked on my exchange student year in Michigan from August 1968 to August 1969, I had the opportunity to meet Mark several times. In the summer of 1974, during my trip to America, I reunited with Mark and his parents, Thomas and Margret, in Saginaw. It was a joyous occasion, reminiscing about our past experiences.
Several years ago, I reconnected with Mark through Facebook. Our correspondence delved into our respective lives, sharing stories about family and children, Mark in Michigan and myself in Finland. It was heartwarming to catch up and reflect on the paths our lives had taken.
Today, as I reflect on the memories shared with Mark, I am filled with sadness to learn of his passing. My deepest condolences go out to Mark's family and brothers.
