Louis Coleman Obituary

Louis Richard Coleman, 85 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on February 28, 2022.
He was born May 8, 1936 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Louis Lendon and Zulah (Lawrence) Coleman. Louis spent his early years traveling through the Texas oil fields with his father, a pump operator. He attended High School in Decatur, Texas, before his parents moved him and his siblings to Denton, Texas so Louis could attend North Texas State University (present-day University of North Texas.)
At NTSU, he majored in chemistry and following his graduation in 1958, began his career at Texas Instruments. He retired from TI after 38 years.
On June 27, 1959, he married Mildred Annette Stout in Denton, Texas. They had two children, Richard Lynn Coleman and Kathleen Crabtree Eads. He was a member of Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas, where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
Given his career in high tech, Louis was always an early adopter of technology. He enjoyed his time working with groups around the world and, especially, the many times he worked with his German counterparts on patent-earning projects.
Retirement years were good for him and Annette. They spent their summers in the mountains of South Fork, Colorado and their winters in South Texas, until Annette's death in 2006.
Louis started a new adventure when he moved to Coalgate, Oklahoma and subsequently met Patricia Shores, who had also lost her spouse. Pat brought much laughter, fun and good food to Louis following their marriage on November 17, 2006 in Cottonwood, Oklahoma.
In this new chapter of life, Louis and Pat forged a blended family of kids, grandkids, siblings and in-laws from their first marriages into a bigger circle of love. Louis found his true calling being "Pops" to this large family.
Louis and Pat had a busy life. They, too, traveled to the mountains and enjoyed fishing, going on cruises and doing crafts. You could always fine Louis working on a project or two, from wood working to his award-winning Swedish Weaving blankets. They were members of the Cornerstone Praise and Worship Center in Coalgate, Oklahoma.
A life lived in service to the Lord, to his family and to others, Louis is certainly celebrating on streets of gold, free of pain.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Pat; his son Rick Coleman of Coalgate; daughter, Kathy and husband Wilbert "Skip" Eads of Plano, Texas; two grandchildren, Brandon Wallace Crabtree and Lauren Kathleen Crabtree FinCannon and husband, Evan plus great-grandson Anden FinCannon all of Plano, Texas.
His brothers Dr. William Edward Coleman of Liberty Hill, Texas; Hugh Coleman of Lewisville, Texas; and sister Zulynne Coleman Leverett and husband Howard of Henderson, Texas, survive him, as well.
Others who will certainly miss him include his step-children Shonda Pebworth and husband Kenny of Coalgate, Anita Shores of Coalgate and Sandra Manuel and husband Brent of Ada, plus 7 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
Also mourning his passing are his family of the heart, Angie Truitt; Annette's three brothers, Herman Stout and wife Rachel (Aubrey, Texas), Kenneth Stout and wife Gladys (Denton, Texas) plus Bobby Stout and wife Earlene (Denton, Texas); and her sister, Janie Ruth Montrose Shelton (Borger, Texas); along with numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
In addition to his first wife, Annette, he is preceded in death by his parents Louis Lendon and Zulah Lawrence Coleman plus his sisters-in-law Carol Coleman and Billie Stout.
A celebration of his life will be held on March 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Cornerstone Praise and Worship Center in Coalgate, Oklahoma
