Lisa Kaye Brunson was born January 29, 1965, in Shreveport, LA. She was the daughter of Charles and Darlene Brunson and the youngest member of the family being born 10 minutes behind her twin brother Greg. She was also adored by her older siblings Debbie and Jeff, who both surprisingly got what they wished for in babies – a boy and a girl.
Lisa graduated from Parkway High School in 1983. She was a member of the band and a majorette. After graduation, she attended Louisiana Tech where she graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor Science in Business. Lisa lived in Plano, Texas where she worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for the last 15 years.
Lisa was a lover of life, and always up for an adventure. She traveled all over the US, discovering a new place or event each weekend. When visiting family or friends, she always had one rule with each visit – we must go somewhere new! She loved her Saints, NASCAR, country dancing, camping, exploring and fur babies. After owning her beloved dogs, she began fostering them to try to help save as many lives as she could.
Lisa loved her family and was Aunt Leesie to her nieces (Courtney Simms, Caitlyn Brunson, Bailey Yarbrough, Shelby Myers, and Brittany McSweeny) and nephew (Andrew Brunson). She was a second grandma to her six great nieces and nephews. She enjoyed being a big kid with them, never missed a key moment, and played a huge role in all their lives.
Lisa passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, in New Orleans, LA.
Lisa is survived by her sister, Debbie Dean (Clyde) from Colorado, her brother Jeff Brunson (Amy) and her twin Greg Brunson (Lisa G), both from Texas.
Her smile was infectious and will forever be imprinted in our hearts and minds.
Lisa's life will be celebrated in Dallas later this summer once plans are finalized. She will be buried in Double Springs Cemetery-Waynesburg, KY, at 10 AM on Friday, October 7, 2022, which is a Public Graveside Memorial Service; with a Celebration of Life at Greer Park following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Greer Family Park located in Kings Mountain, KY. Please make checks payable to Greer Park c/o Rhonda Dutlinger, 736 Lantern Post Court, Milford, OH 45150-1470.

Oh Lisa I just found out. Im very saddened to hear of your passing. Lisa was such a bright shining star and a very independent and caring woman. She loved her dogs and her family very much, especially her nieces and nephew....and her Saints. Lisa was my girlfriend for a while in the early 2000s and we had such a great time together. She was a fighter and had overcome so much and lived life to the fullest. I will always cherish our memories together and the impact you made on me. You always had a piece of my heart. May you rest in peace.
