Kristen Schmidt Obituary

Kristen Margaret Schmidt, age 54 of Long Beach, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022.
She was a native of Metairie, LA and graduated from East Jefferson High School.
Kristen was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Joseph Schmidt, Jr.; her brother, Raymond Joseph Schmidt, III; her grandparents, Raymond J. and Anna D. Schmidt and Gordon C and Helen M. Smith; her brother-in-law, David D. Clifford; and her aunt and uncle, Ronald and Dorothy Schmidt.
She is survived by her mother, Sue Ellen Schmidt of Long Beach; her sister, Pamela Clifford of Long Beach; her sister-in-law, Lucretia Griffin Schmidt of Marrero, LA; her niece, Kayla Thomas of Marrero, LA; her aunts and uncles, Linda DeRocher of Birmingham, AL, Lisa and Scott Jones of Port Huron, MI, and Barbara and Richard Schmidt of Lafayette, LA; and many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Kristen was a former travel agent and traveled to Costa Rica, Jamaica, Bermuda, Hawaii, and the Bahamas. She spent 20 plus years in the restaurant business as a server, bartender, and manager.
She loved reading, especially mysteries by Agatha Christie and historical novels by Philippa Gregory. Kristen also enjoyed watching true crime shows, cooking, and she adored animals, especially her Italian Greyhound, Mia.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Gulfport Memorial Hospital for their excellent, kind, and loving care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kristen's memory to American Cancer Society.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM, Friday, May 13, 2022, at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, with a visitation from 2:00 PM until the Mass.
