Obituary of Justin Alexander Humenik
Justin Alexander Humenik-beloved son, big brother, grandson, nephew, and friend, passed away on May 17, 2022.
Justin's spirit grew increasingly weary of this earthly life, and he chose to find peace and comfort elsewhere. We trust that Justin is indeed free and at peace, experiencing the same love and joy he brought to his family and everyone who knew him.
Justin will be dearly missed by his loving parents, Jesse and Julie and his little brother, Josh, his grandparents Steve Humenik, and Susan and Steve Buck, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Justin is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joy and Jim Vavra who now hold him in their loving arms.
Justin graduated from the University of Minnesota, earning his degree in computer science. With his brilliant mind and creative spirit, Justin enjoyed exploring his feelings through creating his own electronic music, on sound boards and computerized systems he built himself. His wit and humor shined through even during the most challenging of times. Justin found strength and confidence through his love of physical activity. Running, lifting weights, and staying fit were things he felt passionate about and which he truly missed after suffering some physical ailments which made engaging with these activities no longer possible. Of Justin's many contributions in this life, perhaps most enduring was the selfless care, patience, understanding and love he provided for his little brother Josh, with whom he shared a very special bond. Justin's family was everything to him and his expression of love and gratitude to them and for them is the memory they will cherish in their hearts forever and which will comfort them on the long journey ahead.
A celebration of life will be held at Cremation Society of Edina on June 5th, 2022. The visitation will be from 12:00-3:30pm with a short memorial service at 12:30pm, and a luncheon to follow. All are welcome.
Memorials may be made to NAMI, or the mental health and suicide prevention charity of your choice.
