Justin Querbes Blewett Jet died at home after a valiant battle with diabetes. An avid coin collector, real estate investor, history buff, sports enthusiast, and golfer, he lived an interesting and eccentric life. He was affectionately called Jet, Uncle Jet, Uncle Dude, but mostly he was called a true friend. Justin s heart knew no bounds as he was a constant companion by phone to many. A graduate of Southfield Middle School and The Fenster School of Arizona, he lived in Shreveport most of his life, and devotedly cared for both his mother, Katherine Querbes Blewett and his father, Robert Winston Blewett, who predeceased him. Justin is also predeceased by his grandparents, Louise Robinson Stewart Querbes and Justin Ricou Querbes Jr.; Nelwyn Slater Blewett and Joe Ben Blewett; and his brother-in law, William Hopkins Middleton. He is survived by his sister, Nellwyn Winston Blewett Middleton; half-brothers, Robert Andrew and Steven Philip Shavin; cousins, Marjorie Querbes Briley, Elizabeth Querbes Entenmann, Carolyn Louise Querbes and Jennifer Robinson Querbes, Katherine Ann and Louise Querbes Andreeff, Andrew Robinson and Stewart James Briley, James Slater Blewett Jr, Laura Nelwyn Blewett Edgerton, Jonathan Morgan Blewett, and Sharon Deforge Davis.
Honorary pallbearers include Andrew Robinson Briley, Stewart James Briley, William John Entenmann, John David Pickens, and James Strickland.
To celebrate his life, the family will gather at Lakeland Farms on Monday June 13th at 5pm, and honor him at a reception following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Querbes Park Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
