John was my mother's second husband's father. We didn't always get along well when I was a child. But as two adults we got along great!

There is not enough space here to recount the times he helped me when I was a young man.

He was a good man, who could be counted on to help if he knew you were in need of help. He was rich in character, and a wealth of knowledge and true skill and talent of anything that had to do with construction, carpentry, and all related vocations.

I have knowledge and skills today that are directly attributable to the fact that John made the time, and put forth the effort, to pass on the the knowledge that came from the experience he gained from the hard work he did to make his living and provide for his family.

The world has truly lost one of a dying breed of men in John's passing. My condolences and prayers are at this moment devoted to those John has left behind.
