John A. Day, of West Harrison, IN, passed away on May 4, 2022 at the age of 53. John was born on February 25, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John E and Patricia (Fritsch) Day. He was a 1987 William Henry Harrison High School Graduate. John worked for the IRS as a Tax Examiner for 10 years before retiring due to health reasons. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding quads in his younger years. John enjoyed fast cars and rock music (AC/DC & Metallica being his favorites.) He enjoyed his Ford Maverick, Firebird and trucks and looked forward to the day of restoring the Firebird. Watching sunsets from his house and enjoying friends and family around his campfire was always a special time. John loved betting on any kind of sports and he enjoyed fantasy football. He had the greatest sense of humor and always put a smile on your face. Due to John's health condition of Friedreich's Ataxia, he tried to always eat healthy and religiously worked out at Premier Fitness, which helped him live a good life. He was active in National Ataxia Foundation and during the conventions he met some wonderful lifelong friends.
John will be dearly missed by his loving mom:Patricia Day; devoted siblings: Jody (Galen) Carrington, Darren (Angelina) Day, Dan (Kristen) Day, and Holly (Peter) Day Strike.
Cherished Nieces Nephews: Galen L. (Braden) Carrington, Quincy Carrington, Addison, Andrew, Aydan, Prestyn, Decklyn Day, John Peter "JP", & Lucy Strike; Great Niece: Ji Anna Carrington. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
