John Christopher Dashiell Sr, age 62, ended his battle with cancer on June 15th, 2022, in Salisbury, Maryland surrounded by his family.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Bateman Dashiell; his children Emily Byrom and husband Josh, John Christopher Dashiell Jr and wife Hayley, Brader Dashiell, Candace Eure, and Sarah Eure; along with grandchildren, Reed, James, Jaxson, Lillian, and two more blessings on the way; brother Donald Dashiell Jr and his wife Debbie; his aunts, Judith Willing, and Bert Butler and husband Walt; and a large loving extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Dashiell Sr and Shirley Dashiell; his brother, Steven Dashiell; and nephew, Willing Dashiell.
Chris was born in Salisbury, Maryland on September 8th, 1960. Chris was a 1979 graduate of James M. Bennett High School, where he played football and ran track and field. He attended Salisbury University and continued on to Elon College where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He worked for the family construction company, J Roland Dashiell & Sons Inc and was very proud to be a part of growing his hometown of Salisbury. In any position that followed he was loved by his peers and coworkers.
He was a great family man and a loving father. He married Linda Brader in August of 1987 and the couple had three children together; Emily, Christopher, and Brady. In September of 2014 he married Kimberly Bateman Dashiell and gained two more children; Candace and Sarah.
He enjoyed skiing, boating around the Eastern Shore, surfing at Assateague, fishing on the Nanticoke, deer hunting, and bragging about his kids and grandchildren. Chris was deeply involved in the community and loved the Eastern Shore. He was always willing to jump in and coach any sport his kids were playing and truly had a gift for coaching and mentoring. His family and friends will remember him as a comedic storyteller, unofficial movie critic, and genuinely kindhearted person.
A funeral is scheduled for 11am on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1401 Camden Ave. Salisbury, MD. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chris's life.
In lieu of flowers, Chris wished for donations to be made to the local Salvation Army, www.salvationarmypotomac.org/salisbury/.
