James Lee Towers of Eaton Rapids,
Passed away July 27, 2022, at the age of 74. He was born in Eaton Rapids on August 19, 1947, the son of Carl and Goldie (French) Towers. James was a hardworking man. Before he retired, he worked for the city of Eaton Rapids as the Sexton at Rosehill Cemetery for 43 years. In his youth, James enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was kind and would help his neighbors and community. James liked mowing lawns, his daily breakfast at Robin's Nest, and dinners at Big Boy.
James is survived by his Goddaughter (daughter), Anna (Michael) Anderson of OH; Brother, Wayne (Audrey) Towers of Eaton Rapids; several nieces and nephews; grandchild, Jeremy Snyder of OH; and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ella Bugbee and Dorothy Doxtador; special friends, Steve and Penny Oberlin, and Mark Oberlin.
Services will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel in Eaton Rapids. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Dr. Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601. Arrangements were entrusted to the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel.
