James was born to the late James Allen Lee Robinson, Sr. and Margaret Ruth Lee Robinson in Anderson, SC. James graduated from Westside High School and was proud of his "Westside" Rams. Although he attended DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a tried and true. Clemson University fan! Our great God blessed James with a creative mind and a set of hands to repair and design anything he had a mind to! He was a very intelligent man. You would often find him at Welfare Baptist Church erecting fences and building sheds. James spent most of his working years at Piedmont Natural Gas Company. James loved people and they, in turn loved him. He never met a stranger. James was affectionately known as "Bubba" to many, "Babe" to Marian, and "Dad" or "Pops" to his children and grands. He was well respected by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and others.
James leaves to mourn his passing: His loving wife of 17 years, Marian Freeman-Robinson, his children, Saverio "Star" Robinson and LaRicko Robinson of Anderson SC, Greta "Cree" Robinson of Greenville, South Carolina, and Dr. Corey Emanuel Chapman of Los Angeles, California. Four grandchildren: Yasmine, Jahvon, Etravias and Bryson. Siblings: Colette Robinson Davis, Calvin (Prince) Robinson, Gregory (Robyn) Robinson, Stanley Robinson, Walter "Tony" Robinson, and Monicia "Polly" (Efram) Robinson Ware; in-laws: Carl (Vickey) Swilling, Deborah (Willie) Eastrich, John Jr. (MJ) Freeman, Sandra and Amanda Freeman; aunts and uncles: Mr. Claude Lee, Mr. Herman Lee, Mrs. Debra Yates, Mrs. Barbara (Joe) Adams, Versina Robinson, Marion (Annie) Robinson, and James (MayAlice) Robinson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.
Public viewing will be held onTuesday, January 11, 2022 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Welfare Baptist Church Gymnatorium. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. At the request of the family, please wear a mask if you plan to attend the funeral service.

To the Entire Robinson Family,
My deepest sympathies are with you. May ministering angels surround you and the Holy Spirit comfort you each moment of every day as you begin to walk forward without James in your presence. God determined James' work here on earth was complete. Although difficult, let us rejoice he is now in the presence of the Lord. Treasure his memory and honor him by always being the best you can be. Love each other and help each other and do the best you can for and with each other. To my wonderful daughter-in-law, Monicia, I love you and am so very sorry for the loss of your brother.
