Jacob Ray Obituary

Jacob "Jake" Michael Ray, 38, of Troup, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2024. Born March 26, 1986 in Tyler, Texas, to Charla Burkett and Michael Ray, Jake was known for his humor, kindness, and easy-going nature from the very start.
A skilled welder at Squiers Metal Fabrication, Inc. in Tyler, Jake was passionate about his work and cherished his relationships with his coworkers. He loved laughing, joking, fishing, welding and fabricating, target shooting, and ongoing antics with his dad. Jake enjoyed spending time with friends, loved ones, and his cat, Gato.
Jake will be remembered for his bright smile, goofy sense of humor, and his ability to see the best in others. He was always willing to lend a hand and was deeply loved for his generosity and upbeat spirit.
Jake is survived by his mother, Charla Burkett-Hymer and Dusty Hymer of Whitehouse, his father and very Best Friend, Michael Ray of Troup, his brother, Joshua Ray, nephews Cason & Zachary Ray all of Whitehouse; his brother, Christian Burkett of Austin, his sister, Juliah Vasquez-Morris, niece Lilah & nephew Nolan Morris all of Whitehouse, his Aunt Rita "RiRi" Perryman of Moody, Tx., his Uncle T. Ray & Aunt Sandra Burkett of Tyler, his best friend cousin Jacob Aaron Burkett of Tyler, many cousins and many, many friends and his VFW Post 1799 family.
Jake was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Elwood & Bonnie Ray of Tyler, Charles Ray & Donna Burkett of Whitehouse; a very special Uncle Mike, "Big Mike" Perryman of Moody, Tx and his Aunt, Carolyn Golightly of Pemberton, New Jersey.
