Dorothy Lee Jones, affectionately known to some as "Big Momo", was born July 15, 1941, in Eunice, Louisiana to Arthur Thomas and Gertie Ardoin Thomas. She was a member of Straightway Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess and Mother of the Church. Mother Jones departed this life, to her Heavenly home, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in her residence surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Magaline Mayes, Linda (Richard) Brown, and Glenda Jones; five sons, Michael Senegal, John (Shavon) Jones, Horace (Cynthia) Jones, Byron Jones, and Jessie Jones; one brother, Louvance Thomas; aunt, Maya Captain; sisters-in-law, Margie Thomas and Hester Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sons, Howard Thomas, Rufus Jones, and Jessie Jones; brothers, Francis Thomas, Arthur Thomas Jr., Clifford Thomas, and Manzie Thomas; sisters, Hester Denton, Gertie Frank, Hazel Thomas, and Ruby Thomas; and godkids, Henry Frank and Dorothy Jean. Her visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 9AM with her funeral following at 11AM, at Solid Rock Ministries located at 241 J.J. Storer Street in Oberlin, Louisiana. Pastor Rodney Botley will officiate. Burial will be in Attales Cemetery in Point Blue under the direction of James Funeral Home
