Obituary for Dorothy J. Jones
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy J. Jones, Age 84 of Eldorado Arkansas, who departed this life on June 4, 2025, at Embassy Healthcare in Pickerington, Ohio
Dorothy was born on July 24, 1940, to the late Ernestine and Cleo Mardis. She spent her early years in Eldorado, Arkansas. Before moving to Summit Argo, Illinois, where she grew into adulthood.
Dorothy attended Argo Community High School and, at the age of 18, chose to begin a new chapter by marrying her then-husband, the late David J. Jones. Together, they built a large and loving family, raising seven children: Cherylinda, Carolyn, Cory, David Jr., Carlos, Cornell, and Paul. Dorothy devoted herself fully to motherhood, providing her children with unwavering love and care.
Her Legacy continued through her many grandchildren: Ironda, Thomas (Ove'), Shalonda, Chayla, Timothy, Tyronn, Corvaughn, Corwin, Miles, Kesha, Marie, Mayila, and Layla. She was also blessed to become a great-grandmother and even lived to meet some of her great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.
Dorothy had a special place in her heart for her extended family. She was lovingly surrounded by a host of nieces and nephews, and her family would like to give special recognition to her devoted nephew Kendle, who lovingly cared for her during her time of need.
She was also blessed with lifelong friendships that stood the test of time. The family extends heartfelt thanks and love to Sister Joyce Burk and Sister Yvonne Moten for their enduring friendship, love, and support.
Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and generous spirit. She had a heart that always welcomed others, and a willingness to help anyone in need. Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life and the love she gave so freely. Please keep Dorothy and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
In Jesus' name, we say goodbye for now but never farewell.
