Donald A. Afflerbach, 81, of Center Valley, died July 30, 2024 in his residence. He was the husband of Patricia B. (Timmins) Afflerbach. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Arthur D. and Barbara D. (Helfrich) Afflerbach. Donald honorably served his country in the Army during Vietnam serving with the 9th Army – 38th Transportation Battalion. Donald was a graduate of Lafayette College, earning a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He worked as a general engineering manager in the cement, microchip, and energy industries for many years before retiring.
Donald will be remembered by his wife of 57 years, Pat; daughters, Kimberly A. wife of Jason Walter of Kittanning and Sara Afflerbach and partner Dirk Follweiler of Alburtis; grandson, Hunter C. Hooks; brothers, Russell Afflerbach and wife Barbara of Washington Twp. and Richard Afflerbach and wife Cecelia of Asheboro, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Mon., Aug. 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gift of Life Howie's House, 401 Callowhill St., Philadelphia, PA 19123.

Donald, you have made your final march down the lonely dusty trail. You are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
