Cynthia "Cindy" Lyn (Morris) Ballard, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 16th at 2:47 pm surrounded by her loving family at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. Cindy was born January 11, 1948, to Robert Morris and Alice England in Mobile, AL. She was a homemaker and became a paraprofessional at Tucker Elementary School. She earned a master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Valdosta State University in 1998 and taught speech to elementary students in the Houston County School system for 12 years.
Cindy liked to travel, visiting Hawaii twice in her lifetime, and she had taken many Caribbean cruises. She was known by her family as a talented artist and cook. She was also an avid University of Alabama fan. "Roll Tide, Roll!"
Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Richard Ballard; three children, Michelle Kennedy from Covington, GA; Andy Ballard and his wife Jennifer from Moultrie, GA; Heather Ballard of Perry, GA; six grandchildren, Katelyn, Asa, Ian, Alice, Jack, and Jimmy; her brother Bob Morris and his wife Priscilla Morris of Cabot, AR; two sisters, Tookie Roberts of Harrison, MI, and Rosemary Sowell of Westminster, SC, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister JoAnn Keebler of Mobile, AL.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00pm at Burpee-Scott Funeral Home in Fort Valley, GA. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry. Per the family's wishes, masks are encouraged, but not required.
