Obituary of Cheri A. Geiger
Cheri A. Geiger, of Medina, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Medina Memorial Hospital following a brief illness at the age of 75.
Lewis and Dolores (Orth) Williams gave birth to their youngest of two daughters, Cheri Ann, on September 17, 1946 in Buffalo. Early on in Cheri's life the family moved to the Medina area, where she would live the rest of her life. She graduated from Medina High School in the class of 1964. In her working life, Cheri held several jobs over the years. She was employed as a cafeteria lady at the Towne Elementary School and then went back to beauty school and worked for many years as a hairdresser in Medina. Cheri worked for her sister at Salon De Coiffeur and then opened her own business cutting hair for people who could not leave their homes, called Homebound. Cheri also had a cleaning business and worked for Literacy Volunteers of America. She was a long standing member of the Junior Wilson Sportsman's Club in Medina. Cheri enjoyed painting, crocheting, spending time at home with her husband, visiting with family and loved her dog, Cooper.
In addition to her parents, Cheri was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Nayman. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 56 years, Robert C. Geiger; two sons, Robert (Susie) Geiger II and Joseph Geiger; three grandchildren, Derek (Jessica) Geiger, Teresa (Zach) Allen and Bobby (Micaela) Geiger III; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Allen, Zach Allen, Jr. and Noah Allen; brothers and sister in-law, Paul Nayman, Carol (Vic) Bobzien and Howard (Carol) Geiger; also several nieces and nephews.
No formal funeral services will be held. Burial will take place in Boxwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family appreciates any donations in memory of Cheri to be made to the Medina Memorial Hospital, 200 Ohio St., Medina, NY 14103 or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
