BEVERLY (METZGER) McCURRY
Beverly Ann McCurry, age 84 of Clairton, Pennsylvania, died at the home of her daughter, Darla Klose, peacefully with her family around her on Friday, July 22, 2022. She was born on March 24, 1938, in the Hays section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania a daughter of Jacob and Anna Mae (Rebarnick) Metzger.
Beverly loved playing cards, going to The Meadows with her friends, dancing, planting flowers, making crafts, and decorating her home. She enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends and planning and hosting special events, like her annual Christmas Eve gathering and birthday parties. She also loved watching the hummingbirds that came to her feeder. Strong and diligent, she never shied away from hard work. She took much pride in being a dedicated Mom, Grandma and G.G.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacey Petrovich, a grandson, Jacob Petrovich, and former spouse, Bernard McCurry. Beverly is survived by three children, Darlene (former spouse Edward) Eikey, Darla (Wayne) Klose and Bryan (Elaine) McCurry; her son-in-law, Jerry Petrovich, Sr.; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Andrew Stout) Eikey and Emily (Zach Harvey) Eikey, Marissa and Lizzy Klose, Jerry (Tara) Petrovich, Jr. and Adrian Oliverio and Gino (Ashley) Oliverio; three great grandchildren, Addison, Kendra and Little A and two half-sisters, Terri (Doug) Hartman and Marla (Ernie) Stevens. She is also survived by many other family members and friends, and she loved and adored her children's and grandchildren's "fur babies", Tesla, Juno, Maci, Molly, Charlie, Chloe and Sadie.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. Beverly's funeral service will be at the conclusion of the visitation at 8 PM.
If desired, her family suggests donations in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a local Humane Society in your area, per Beverly's request.
Beverly was a fiercely independent and loving leader of her family.
