Ann Patterson
1931-2022
Ann Patterson, 90, was born Annie Merle Pugh on October 23, 1931 in Converse, Louisiana and left this world to meet her Savior on June 9, 2022 after a lengthy health decline. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Carrie Pugh, two brothers, Hollis Pugh and Wallace T. Pugh, and two sisters, Dorothy M. Pugh and Wilma D. Pugh. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of over 65 years, Leonard Patterson, sons, Brad Patterson and Steve Patterson, both of Shreveport, one granddaughter, Hannah Fisher of McKinney, Texas, and Ann's beloved dog Katie.
After Ann's mother passed away a short time after she was born, she was raised by the McDonald family of Converse. Their loving care set the foundation for a happy childhood. Once she graduated from Converse High School, Ann attended a business college in Shreveport and later worked at Pioneer Bank, where she first laid eyes on a handsome red-haired man who would become her husband in 1956.
Ann was a devoted wife and mother who modeled the Christian life. Until her health began to decline, Ann lived a life of service to her family and the community. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, drove her sons to countless ball games, and participated in various civic organizations. A long-time member of Ford Park Baptist Church, Ann loved her church family. She enjoyed celebrations with family and friends. Most recently, her loved ones gathered at the Patterson home on Cross Lake to celebrate her 90th birthday. Her friends and loved ones will miss her greatly.
Ann's family would like to thank all the medical professionals who cared for Ann over the past several months. Special thanks go out to both Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Life Path Hospice Care of Shreveport who cared for her at her most vulnerable and supported the family as they let her go. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18)
Celebration of life service for Ann Patterson will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Ford Park Baptist Church 5755 Yarbrough Road Shreveport Louisiana 71119. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, service will start at 11:30 AM. Immediately after the service there will be a fellowship lunch in the youth building on the premises. If you plan to stay for the fellowship lunch you are encouraged to bring a covered dish or dessert. The family will provide the sandwiches. Contact for food arrangement is Gary Fair 318-936-3976.
