Angela Diane (Rowe) Kimble, age 54, passed away peacefully in her home on March 19th, 2022 in North Adams, MA. Born on May 2nd, 1967 in Torrance, CA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Rowe Jr., and Karen (Evans) and Roger Summerlin (stepfather). She is survived by her two children, who made up the entirety of her world, Evan (age 24) and Elizabeth (age 22). Besides her parents and children, Angela is survived by her brother, Kevin Rowe, her sister-in-law, Elizabeth (O'Hearn) Rowe, and the father of her children, Michael Kimble. She is also survived by her grandmother, Lillis (Bennett) Rowe, as well as her nephew, Ryan Hanley, and her soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Kassandra McDonald.
Angela was a 1985 graduate of William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, CO. She went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in History from Texas A&M University, as well as a second Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from The College of Sante Fe. After obtaining her degrees, she began her teaching career in Los Alamos, NM, where she was nominated for State Teacher of the Year. She also taught less-advantaged inner-city students in Los Angeles, CA. After moving to Andover, MA in 1995, she began teaching middle school students in Chelmsford, MA. In 2000, she went on to earn a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She began working as Assistant Principal at Hawthorne Brook Middle School in Townsend, MA for two years, followed by her six years as Assistant Principal at the Peter Fitzpatrick Elementary School in Pepperell, MA.
Angela lived her life with purpose and a desire to make the world a better place. In 2009, she began her role as a Principal at the North Street Elementary School in Tewksbury, MA. She spent an impactful ten years at the school, touching the lives of many students, families, and colleagues. Some of her greatest accomplishments at North Street include implementing a social-emotional learning program and drastically increasing standardized test scores. Outside of the school she was very involved in the student community, often attending choir concerts, walk-a-thons, holiday events, and more. After dedicating twenty years as Principal and Assistant Principal for numerous schools, she took on a new role as Special Education Coordinator at Brayton Elementary School in North Adams, MA. She often noted that her favorite part of her job was the kids and being able to make a positive impact on their lives.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Angela. Outside of work, she often explored the local hiking trails and found beauty in even the simplest of places. She was also very sentimental, holding on to items such as postcards, fortunes from fortune cookies, and her daughter's artwork. Angela loved her grandmother's homemade jam, Harry Potter, the Red Rocks Amphitheater, taking her children to Cape Cod, MA, visiting the Cliffhouse in Ogunquit, ME, and dogs. She loved her "granddogs", Daisy and Bailey, to which she lovingly referred to herself as "gran-gran." Above all else, Angela loved being a mother to her two children. There was never a day that went by where she didn't brag about them. To her daughter she leaves her kindness and selfless regard for others. To her son she leaves her ambition to live a purpose driven life in order to make the world a better place. Angela will be desperately missed by all those that she left behind.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church, 10 Church St, Westford, MA. Following the conclusion of the service, a celebration of life memorial will be held in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angela's memory to the Kids in Need Foundation.
