Angela (D'Alessandro) Amalfitano, of East Boston, passed away on Friday, April 11th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years old.
Angela was born and raised in Avellino, Italy, to her late parents Giosino and Lucia (Magliacane) D'Alessandro. She grew up on a farm, where she developed a deep love for the earth and a lifelong passion for flowers and plants-she could make anything grow, anywhere. Angela came to the United States permanently in 1957 at the age of 24, bringing with her the strength, resilience, and deep faith that would define her life.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Amalfitano. Together, they shared 44 years of devoted marriage and built a beautiful life centered around family.
Angela was the loving mother of Francesca (Amalfitano) Qatarneh of East Boston, and of Louis Amalfitano and his wife Maria of Wakefield. She was the devoted Nonna of Alia Qatarneh, Noel (Qatarneh) Johnson, and Nicole, Marc, and John Amalfitano.
She was the dear sister of Assunta Dall'Aversano of Naples, Italy; Antonio and Camille D'Alessandro of Reading; Anita and Alan Wynn of Florida; and Alfredo and Tina D'Alessandro of New Jersey. She was also the sister of the late Ada Morell of New Hampshire. Angela is lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A devout Catholic, Angela lived her life with grace, compassion, and a quiet strength. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family, whom she adored. Her warmth, wisdom, and nurturing presence will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, April 14th, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach Street, Revere. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15th, at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks Street, East Boston. Interment will follow in Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
