Andy L. "Drew" Garrett, age 76 of Big Hill, KY went to be with the Lord on Saturday May 14, 2022.
Drew was born in Clay County to the late Everett and Grace Garrett. He was a Vietnam veteran as well as business owner, heavy equipment operator and all-around entrepreneur.
In addition to his parents, Drew was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Glen "Boonie" Garrett, and an infant brother, Carl, his sister Marenia Davis and an infant grandson, Gillus Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Garrett; his children, Craig (Rebecca) Garrett, Danny (Kathy) Allen, Todd (Patti) Garrett, Shane (Kelly) Garrett and Andrea (Steve) Anderson; 14 grandchildren Wade Garrett, Ashley Garrett, Logan (Lori) Allen, Seth (Rebekah) Allen, Kelsey Jefferson, Chelsea Garrett, Krista (Brian)Carpenter, Mackenzie (Martin)Culp, Ethan Anderson, Quentin Anderson, Treven Anderson, Weston Anderson and Kayson Anderson. 5 great grandchildren, Keelin Barrett, Harper and Hyla Allen, Laura and Ava (due in July) Allen. He is also survived by his siblings, Bobby Garrett, Virginia (John) Cornett Stanton, and Evelyn Garrett and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Drew enjoyed spending his evenings at Big Hill Food Mart drinking coffee and swapping stories with the Big Hill Loafers Club. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the community.
Funeral service will be 1pm, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Pilot Knob Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Lakes officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at Pilot Knob Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be his oldest 6 grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers are his younger grandsons, his granddaughters, and the Loafers.
Services are being handled by Lakes Funeral Home in Berea.
