With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Adriana "Chicky" Addivinola (Salini), who departed this life peacefully on April 25, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born on September 18, 1940, Chicky was the cherished daughter of the late Leo and Adriana Salini (Cieri). A lifelong East Boston resident, she was the beloved wife of the late John L. Addivinola, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and devotion.
Chicky was the proud and loving mother of Leo Addivinola, Jean Casazza, John Addivinola, Frank Addivinola and his fiancée Diane Giambrone, Lisa Addivinola and her fiancé Arthur Strickland, and Joseph Addivinola and his wife Catherine. She was the adoring grandmother of Gina Marie Casazza and her fiancé Tim Johnson, Lauren Addivinola, Frank Addivinola Jr., Bianca Addivinola, and Anthony Addivinola. Her joy only grew as she became a great-grandmother to little Anthony Casazza.
A devoted homemaker, Chicky raised her six children in East Boston with unwavering love and care. She was known for her incredible cooking, her infectious laugh, and the warmth she extended to everyone she met. Her home was always filled with the delicious aroma of her Italian dishes, the sound of laughter, and the comfort of a mother's love.
Chicky's zest for life was unmatched-she loved playing bingo, trying her luck at the slot machines or scratch tickets, traveling, and shopping. But more than anything, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Her strength, humor, and boundless affection will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will honor Chicky's beautiful life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, East Boston on Thursday, May 1st from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Friday morning at 8:30 AM, before processing to Sacred Heart Church in East Boston for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with Chicky being laid to rest beside her beloved husband John at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
May they rest in eternal peace, reunited in love. Forever in our hearts, Chicky. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Adriana "Chicky", please visit our floral store.
