Richard Goeringer Obituary

Richard Dean 'Rick' Goeringer
Born: March 4, 1971
Died: June 18, 2022
Richard Dean "Rick" Goeringer, age 51, of Streator, IL., went home to be with his Lord and Savior with his mom and brother by his side on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Born in Berwyn, IL. on March 4, 1971, he was the son of Margaret Ann (Ericson) Goeringer and Raymond Charles Goeringer. He graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1988 and was an Illinois State Scholar. He briefly attended Calvin College and then started his own painting and contracting business, continuing in that profession throughout his life.
Rick had a heart to help those in need and had a love of animals. He was witty, observant, clever, and funny. He enjoyed entertaining others and was an excellent cook.
As a skillful negotiator, he exhibited a remarkable ability to make deals and acquire goods. Rick was also very intelligent and could fix or build almost anything whether it be a car, boat, or house. Many people would turn to him for help with construction and renovation.
Rick loved and was loved by his church, Grace Community, and the community he served. He will be missed by his family and his close friends in Streator.
Rick experienced many difficult things in his life and worked to overcome the struggles he faced. He ended his days with grace and kindness, and a firm acceptance of the love and forgiveness of God through Jesus Christ.
Rick was preceded in death by his brother John L. Goeringer and by his father.
Rick is survived by his three daughters: Megan Nicole (Adam) Brandle, Shannon Lindsey (Sean) Moulder, and Emma Grace Verdon, 2 grandchildren; Theodore and Jacob, his mother Margaret Ann "Margie" Goeringer of Elk Grove Village, brother Matthew Ryan (Gladys) Goeringer of Wheaton, his grandmother Joanne Goeringer, sister-in-law Kimberly Goeringer-Brubaker, his nephews and nieces Joshua, Justin, Jacob, Brianna, Mia, Alexander, and Ryan, and a very dear friend, Rachel Rapson.
Services will be held at Grace Community Church in Streator, IL. with Pastor Chuck Giacinto officiating on July 2nd, 2022. Visitation will be at 10am, with a Celebration of Life at 11am.

Happy Heavenly 54th birthday, Rick. I still miss you so much but I work to find peace knowing how proud you'd be of all that I've accomplished since you had to go. I hope you're still resting at peace as well, and ask that you continue to watch over your loved ones. Love always,
Rachel

My condolences to all of Rick's loved ones. I only knew Rick a short time, but that was long enough to be touched by his caring heart, long enough to be impressed by his many gifts, and long enough to feel the loss at not having had the chance to share with him what an extraordinary person I thought he was. Thank you for sharing your light and your love for God's family.

It's been a year since you had to go. Without a doubt, this has been the hardest year of my life. So many nights I've cried myself to sleep snuggled up with Jaxsy Boii by my side for comfort. All the furbabies sure miss their Papa Rick. I do too. I talk to you often and pray that you'll always be looking out for all of us that miss you terribly in Heaven just as you did during your time here on Earth.

Until we meet again....

Rick was an enterprising fellow, and there aren't nearly enough like him in our world. He was silly, sly, and smart and I enjoyed his presence in my life. Renaissance men like him are golden.

My deepest condolences to Rachel and the Goeringer family.

There will never be another you. I miss you beyond words and I'll never understand why God needed you more than we did.

Me and the furkids will take care of each other. Please watch over us and know how much we love you.

I didn't know Rick but this obituary is so beautiful in describing this man. I felt like I knew him. Now he is with the Lord. Hallelujah! Sorry for the loss those left behind must feel.
