Gustine, California - Madeline Lillian Faria was born October 13, 1929, in Gustine, CA to Joseph Aguilar and Mary Nunes She passed away at her home in Gustine, on May 23, 2022, at the age of 92 years, surrounded by her loving family.
Madeline Lived in Stevinson after she married her late husband, Manuel J. Faria of Newman. They operated a dairy on River Road in Stevinson until they moved the dairy operation to Kniebes Road in Gustine in 1971. Madeline was very active and involved in various clubs and organizations. She was a charter member of YLI in 1962 and president in 1967. She was a founding member of the Gustine Alter Society in 1979. She was UPPEC supreme president in 1992 and 1993. She held various local office positions in most of her clubs and organizations, which include UPEC, UPPEC, SES, and IDES which later became PFSA, Luso, Catholic Daughters, SPRSI, ICF, Native Sons and VFW. Madeline and Manuel were also president of the Stevinson Pentecost Festa in 1964, Our Lady of Miracles Fest in 1972 and 1980 and Gustine Pentecost Celebration in 1983 and 1986. She has pinned ribbons during the Portuguese Festa and Feast of accounts for over 50 years. Madeline was the Secretary for Our Lady of Miracles Membership for approximately 8 years, this role included two long days in the park for Our Lady of Miracles celebration and many hours before and after to make sure she gave each of the members their membership pins. Madeline was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother; her family was always the most important thing in her life
Madeline is survived by her sons, Manuel J. Faria Jr. (Julie), Patrick J. Faria, Lloyd Faria (Wendy), James Faria (Mary) and daughter Dolores (Dee) Aguirre (Toby). Thirteen grandchildren, Tony Thomas, Tami Garcia (Brian), Shannon Lancaster (John), Shelly Burk, Tracey Paine (Evan), Melissa Allen (Bobby), Jessica Faria (Jeremy), Shelly Burk, Tracey Paine (Evan), Melissa Allen (Bobby), Jessica Faria (Jeremy), Cody Faria (Laken), Chelsea Faria (Ryan), Tiffany Quezada (Isai), Megan Aguirre Travis Faria (Sean'a), and Erica Aguirre (Daisy), and 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel J Faria.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 9th at Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles in Gustine at 7:00 pm and a funeral mass will be held the following day on Friday, June 10th at 10:00 am at Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles.
