Matthew Collins Robinson
Matthew Collins Robinson, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his residence in Missoula, Montana.
Matt was born January 09, 1976, in Butte, Montana, the second son of Donald and Michele Robinson. Growing up his family enjoyed going on fishing trips and exploring the outdoors. After graduating high school Matt went on to college at the University of Montana and received a bachelor's degree in business management. He then followed his passion to California where he attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. Matt made a career of film and photography, living in Los Angeles for years before coming home to Montana.
While Matt was passionate about many things, his truest love in life was his family and friends. He was a doting dad to Callon and Sula. He loved to take the kids to the lake and spend time with them or heading out to the trails on their mountain bikes. Other passions in Matt's life included skiing, building motorcycles and anything to do with action sports, he loved doing them and filming them. Matt directed and premiered a film here in Montana, "Desert OHM: The Disruption".
Left to cherish Matt's memory are his children: Callon and Sula Robinson of Missoula; his mother Michele Robinson of Butte, MT; his brother John (Jackie Lau) Robinson and their children Aria and Alana of Anaheim, CA; Uncle Doug (Julia Sullivan) Robinson of Hamilton, MT and Annapolis, MD, Aunt Dr. Cheryl (Tom Loften) Portwood of Riverton, WY; cousins Steve Robinson, Katie Robinson, Dag (Karen Brown) Tollefson, Siss (Dag) Johnsen, Erick Loften and John (Barbara) Alonzo and their families; he is also survived by many extended family and numerous friends including Seven Hobbs, Jessie Garza IV, Tim Rooney, and Rock Litzer.

Our deepest condolences for the passing of a great dad and neighbor. Sula and our son Kai have great memories of playing together when Matt lived on Elm St. in the lower Rattlesnake. We´ve lost both our fathers in the last few years (mine this summer as well) so it is excruciating to think about how hard this must be for Sula and Callon. We home the funeral services brought joy in bringing everyone together, so they could feel the support of family overflowing, despite the loss of their beloved father.
