Bonny Resner
On June 16th, 2022, our beloved mother Bonny Resner passed into the next realm to continue her journey with family and friends who have traveled before her. Bonny Resner was the embodiment of two immensely powerful words: Dedication and Determination. Throughout her life these two qualities not only guided her but genuinely emanated from the core of who Bonny was as a person. Bonny did not hesitate to give comfort, guidance, and unconditional love to all who knew her.
Bonny was born 1956 in Ronan, Montana. Growing up on Missoula's Northside in the 1960s, her childhood there instilled in her the value of family and the lesson of having to work longer and harder than others if you wanted to build a life for yourself. At young age Bonny became a single mother and with the birth of her son Shaun she found her joy and the central focus of her lifetime. From day one Bonny was determined to be the best Mother she could be and dedicated herself to raising her amazing son. She continued this dedication when she became a grandmother to Shaun's daughters Makaya, Jaiden and Shoshanah and again in caring for her mother Marj. In all facets of her life Bonny was a true inspiration.
In 1981 Bonny began a career that spanned over 40 years working for the US Forest Service. Bonny's dedication and commitment to the US Forest Service and the people who came to respect and rely on her was much more than just her job. Bonny worked tirelessly to provide whatever was needed for the men and women who counted on her expertise and knowledge while fighting fires across the country. On any given day you could find her interacting with the members of the Opportunity Resource janitorial crew who she knew by name and could not resist spoiling and celebrating while never failing to take the time to share their day. She was also dedicated to giving back at every opportunity and constantly looked to help wherever she could.
Very dear to Bonny were Shannon and Denise whom she loved deeply. Bonny did not understand the meaning of lukewarm. She was either all in or nothing. She believed in treating her kids equally and that continued on to all of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Bonny's love and compassion extended beyond her family and job. One year for Christmas she handmade a blanket for every student in her granddaughters Head Start class. Bonny organized the annual holiday parties for the Cache and every year would pull dozens of cards from the Christmas Giving Trees to fulfil the wishes of these children. Bonny was also always the first one to step up and donate countless time off hours to other people who were in need. She always went out of her way to make her coworkers' days a little more special by remembering birthdays, anniversaries and retirements.
There will not be a day that goes by that we will not feel the emptiness of the space Bonny filled in our lives. To honor her, we will dedicate ourselves to living by her example and be determined in our pursuit of continuing her legacy.
Bonny was a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, companion, friend and more than anything else a remarkable human being.
Bonny was preceded in death by her father Rich Persson, grandparents Don and Ethel Rider, uncle and aunt Don & Amy Rider, and twin grandsons Dylan & Dallas Sharbono. She was reunited with her mother, Marj Person, ten days after her passing.
Bonny leaves behind her children: her son Shaun Resner and daughter-in-law KeNani Souza-Resner, and her daughters Denise Raymond and son-in-law Mike and Shannon Egge and son-in-law Bill. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Makaya, Jaiden & Shoshanah Resner, Jasmine Raymond, Brandon Nelson, Logan Egge and Kroy McWhite. Bonny's twin brother Steve Resner and his wife Leta, their older sister Linda Wemple and her husband Jerry, nephew David Resner, niece Stephanie Marianncelli and her husband Don, and their children Alexandria, Liam & Quinn, and nephew Anthony Wemple, companion William (WB) McMullen and his children, son Richard McMullen and daughter Liz McWhite and her husband Kyle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

I dearly miss Bonny. She held me up when I needed it the most...a very vulnerable period in my life, & she was there to support me. I am indebted to her and all the uplifting Montana values that she grew up with.

We are so very sorry for your tremendous loss. Bonnie was our dispatcher, organizer at the cache and treated us as if we were HER employees via Watkins Shepard Trucking.
Your Mom, Sister, friend and Grandma was a rare breed of amazing humans, indeed. We found out the day she passed and our hearts stopped beating for her, momentarily. When we lived on Clements Rd., she walked by everyday and waved or stopped for a chat. Knowing her was a gift!!
We pray for each of you to find peace, comfort and joy for her life, well lived. We also extend our Condolences and sympathy for the loss of your Grandma who passed just ten days prior.
With Sympathy,
Bill & Joanie
We love you Shannon Egge!
