Glen Kilmer Obituary

Glen Hayes Kilmer, 71, passed away on September 10.

Glen was born September 24th, 1952, to Roger and Winifred Kilmer in Warsaw, NY. He grew up in Port Townsend WA. After graduating from Port Townsend High School in 1970, Glen joined the United States Army. Following an honorable discharge, Glen returned to Port Townsend, where he spent twenty years with the Paper Mill. Wishing to take a more active role in the community, Glen retired from the mill and pursued a career in law enforcement. Glen served as an officer for nearly 20 years, with a passion for helping others wherever he was able.

Glen never liked sitting still for long, and he spent much of his time hunting, fishing, or coaching. Glen dearly loved sharing his knowledge with others. He established a cadet training program, volunteered to teach drug safety courses for school districts, and especially enjoyed his role as an East Jefferson Little League coach for football and baseball. Affectionately known by many as "Coach Glen," he spent countless hours encouraging youth in the community to work hard and have fun.

Glen is survived by his children, Samantha, Tristen, and Trey, numerous grandchildren, and a large extended family. He will be greatly missed, and remembered by all of his efforts to make this world a better place. Services will be planned for a later date.
