Brent Connor Obituary

Brent Connor
Aug. 24, 1949 - May 12, 2022
Resident of Redwood City
Brent Charles Connor passed away at 72 years of age in Redwood City on May 12, 2022. He leaves behind his wife Teresa Bergin, his son Evan, daughter-in-law Eileen, grandsons Colin and Gavin, brother Brian and sister Claire. A third generation Californian, Brent was born in Los Angeles and moved to Menlo Park in 1952. He attended Woodside High, Menlo College and California Berkeley. Brent was a standout soccer player at Menlo College. After scoring 7 goals against St. Marys, he was given a full athletic scholarship to attend Cal Berkeley, later becoming a candidate for the 1968 Olympic soccer team. After college, he earned a teaching credential at Notre Dame de Namur and taught for a number of years in the Los Altos school district before sensing opportunity in the burgeoning tech industry. Mentored by his brother-in-law, he quickly became skilled at recruiting engineers, for both startups and established companies, a tradition being carried on by his son Evan. Brent was an avid golfer and an expert skier, playing weekly at Santa Teresa golf course and speeding down black diamond runs at Homewood Ski resort in Lake Tahoe. Brent loved several things in life: playing with his grandsons, Stanford athletics, making music, traveling up and down the coast of California, and playing golf around the Bay Area. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, professional network, and community. A service will be held on June 11th at Ladera Community Church from 10:00am - 11:30am followed by a celebration of life at the Dutch Goose from 11:30am - 2:00pm. We love and miss you, Brent.
