Dorothy Miller Obituary

Dorothy E. Miller, 90, died at home on June 18. She was born in 1932, attended Liberty High School, and was a life-long resident of Bethlehem. She was the daughter of the late George and Frances (Holecz) Dodig. She was the widow of Rodney Gustave Miller, to whom she was wed for 51 years until his death in 2004. She spent her life raising her three children and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dottie loved to travel, enjoyed the arts, and was always eager to meet strangers and hear their stories. A member of the Bethlehem Steel Club for over 60 years, she was known for her "daily dive" off the board at the pool, a tradition she continued until her 86th year, usually to much surprise and applause. A faithful member of the West Bethlehem Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years, she was devoted to serving her God, Jehovah, and enjoyed telling others about him.

In addition to her children Rodney G. (Deborah) of Phillipsburg, NJ, Jay J. of Willimantic, CT, and Elizabeth M. Evanick (George) of Canton CT, she is survived by her beloved grandchildren David (Beth), Timothy (Amy), Derek, and Jason (Ileana), and great-grandchildren Dallas, Tristan, and HarlieAnn. Dottie was also preceded in death by her brothers, Michael, Rudolph, George, and Stephen Dodig, and her sisters, Frances Talaber, Marie Trilli, and Sophie Martin.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2718 Linden St., Bethlehem, PA. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you Rodney, Jay & Elizabeth & families at this time.
We will never forget our second "mom", as she put it. We loved her for her qualities & kindnesses in the 56 years we´ve known her. Its a sad time for us too. We learned much from her over the years. She had intense love for her God, Jehovah and it flowed over to all aspects of her life.
He will remember all her good deeds.
Our love.

I´m at a loss. I always thought my second Mom would live forever. She was so full of life. I tried to call just a month or so but the phone was busy. This morning something told me to look in obits. Why now? Why not a few days ago so I could say goodbye. Mrs Miller you were my safe haven when I was a child. We talked much about this. Even as an adult, you were at all the funerals for my family to show your love & support. Thank you for everything. You really did make a difference in my life. I love you. -Kooks
