Susan McNeish Obituary

Susan Claire McNeish
1956 - 2024
Feeding Hills
Susan Claire McNeish, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Born in Holyoke on September 21, 1956 to the late Lawrence and Claire (Cloutier) Viens Sr. Susie was raised in Agawam where she graduated from Agawam High School in 1974. She wed the love of her life, Robert McNeish in 1982. Together their love blossomed in Agawam with their two daughters. She took immense pride in creating a nurturing environment and loving home for her family. Susie was a kind and generous woman who greeted each day with a smile and warm heart. She worked as a devoted member of the Agawam Senior Center for many years before retirement. In her leisure Susie enjoyed crafting, trips with family to Maine, and enjoying a glass of wine with friends. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. She looked forward to every gathering and treasured every moment.
Surviving Susie is her loving husband, Bob, their devoted daughters, Kelly McNeish and partner, Bryan, of West Springfield, Laura Morris and husband, Brian, of South Hadley, and her three adored grandchildren Declan, Griffin, and Noah. She is also survived by her loving siblings Kathleen King and Lawrence Viens Jr. and wife Jackie as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kawar and the staff of Mercy Medical Center for their compassionate care.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street. Family and friends will gather on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 9:00 AM and proceed to Sacred Heart Church, 1061 Springfield Street in Feeding Hills for a liturgy of Christian burial at 9:45 AM followed by committal services at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 11 AM. For those wishing to remember Susan in a special way the family suggests donations to the Sister Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104

To Larry and family. Sue as I remember her always had a smile. I last saw her at the Sr. Center not too long ago. She remembered me after many, many years when our families were closer. My deepest sympathy to all.

Bob, Laura, and Kelly, I am beyond shocked and sad for Sue. I will never forget the awesome times with all of the Viens. We had vacations, Girls' Weekends, craft nights, holidays, special events and great times on that porch. All of you were our "Adopted Family". For that I will be forever grateful. Sue was so kind and like a sister to me. I will pray that all of you will find peace knowing she is with family and having her wine in Heaven... I love you Susie !
