Robert Cournoyer Obituary

Robert Arthur Cournoyer, 81, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 1, 2022 at Holyoke Medical Center. Robert was born in Chicopee, MA, son of the late Wilfred and Marie S. (Deliska Jolivet) Cournoyer. He joined the United States Navy and served from 1958 to 1962, as well as the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1962 to 1964. He worked various positions at a wire manufacturing company until his retirement. Robert was handy around the house and enjoyed billiards and cards. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita T. (McDonnell) Cournoyer in 2017. He is survived by two daughters, Kimberlee “Kim” Cournoyer of Chicopee and Patricia “Patti” Guay and her husband Dominic of Westfield; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his step son Michael Griffin in 2021, and his four siblings Ray, Rita, Claire, and Doris. Visitation will be held on Friday July 8th from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee.
