Melody Palmer Obituary

Melody Ann Palmer Melody Ann Palmer died peacefully on October 26, 2021. Melody was born to Peter and Melba Palmer in the spring of 1959. She was a native of San Rafael, California and grew up in the Dominican University neighborhood. She attended Coleman Elementary School, Davidson Middle School, and San Rafael High School and graduated from U.C. Berkeley. Instead of pursuing a career in teaching, Melody gravitated to computer science and gave lessons to children at her Lutheran church. She also helped her own parents with their projects and spent many hours working in the family's computer rooms. Melody loved music and belonged to the Mui Phi Epsilon Sorority and the Thursday Musical Club. She studied the flute and played at her cousin's wedding in the 1980's. Melody also played flute at local senior homes, along with her mother Melba who played the piano. She thoroughly enjoyed the Healing Group at Community Congregation Church, which she attended on a regular basis. She enjoyed making jams and often shared her treats with the Healing Group. Melody's generosity spilled over into the community with her support of local non-profits with a focus on education and religious organizations. She is survived by her aunts and cousins in Illinois: her aunt Mary Horton of St. Charles and cousins Jennifer Boras (Tom) and Susan Cole; her aunt Carolyn Potter of Jacksonville and cousins John Potter (Joyce), Joe Potter, Jim Potter and Janet Potter. Melody lived a quiet but giving life and she will be greatly missed. Donations can be made in her honor to the Community Congregational Church, 145 Rock Hill Drive, Tiburon, CA 94920. No memorial is planned at this time.
