Deborah Henry Obituary

Deborah Anne Henry
July 11, 2022
Greensboro, Georgia - Debbie McKelvey Henry passed from this life into the presence of her Lord on Monday, July 11 at St. Mary's Hospital in Greensboro, Georgia. Born June 21, 1953 in Jackson, Mississippi, she grew up in Macon, Georgia, where she graduated from Miller High School. A 1975 graduate of the University of Georgia, with a degree in Social Services, Debbie was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She spent most of her career in the hospitality industry in Catering and Convention Services in the Atlanta area. In 1989, Debbie formed her own business, Meetings That Move, providing ground transportation services for corporate meetings and events. On November 21, 1990, Debbie married the love of her life, Max, always "boyfriend." An avid and most loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan, Debbie never missed a football game, and spent seven months of the year looking forward to football season. Her favorite sweatshirt says "Game on. Can't Talk." She loved snow skiing, boating, and porch sitting with whoever happened to drop by. Debbie's presence filled whatever space she occupied, her huge smile was infectious, and warmed the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Strangers were never strangers long.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Harold (HP) and Anne McKelvey. She is survived by her husband Max and son Sam, of Greensboro, stepdaughter Allison (Brandon) Wilson of Ball Ground, two grandchildren, Paul and John Wilson, her sister Patty McKelvey Davis of Macon, and nephew Christian Davis of Ft. Myers, Florida.
A Celebration of Debbie's Life will be held Saturday, July 23 at 11:00 am at Lakeside Church at Lake Oconee, 5800 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, Georgia. The service will be preceded by family visitation from 10:00 - 10:45 am in the Worship Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to bethematchfoundation.org. Be The Match connects patients with a donor match for life-saving bone marrow transplant. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements. Visit us at www.mccommonsfuneralhome.com to sign the online guest register.

Sending my sincere sympathy - Debbie and I were sorority sisters at UGA. She was a "love" in every way.

I´m so sorry to learn late about Debbie! I knew her in Macon and we were in the same sorority in college.
Debbie always had a big smile on her face! She was always "up" and such a nice person.
Patty, I know this is hard for you!
Debbie´s husband and family, you know what a wonderful person she was, and you will see her again in Heaven!
So sorry I didn´t get the news til just now.
