James Sharp Obituary

James Bruce Sharp, age 66, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Sunday Jan. 21, 2024, at his home.

Jim was born on Oct. 15, 1957, in Gary, Indiana, to Bruce and Barbara Sharp, whom have preceded him in death.

Jim married the love of his life, Yvonne, on May 12, 2012, at Griffith First Christian Church. Yvonne resides in Michigan City.

Also surviving are his children, Jennifer (Matt) Cromer of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, and Tom Sharp of Springfield, Missouri; stepsons, David and Jeff Bisbee of Griffith, Indiana; three beautiful and talented grandchildren, Amelia, Audrey and Annabelle; sisters, Sally Sharp of Arlington, Virginia, and Janet (Joe) Quigley of Little River, South Carolina; and brother, David (Martha) Sharp of Valparaiso, Indiana.

He was a dedicated member of Michigan City Christian Church. Prior to attending MCCC, he held the positions of elder, deacon and treasurer at other local churches.

Always warm and welcoming with a wonderful sense of humor, he will be remembered as a friend that was always willing to help and lend a hand. He was a "jack of all trades." Jim was an involved community member with Hobart Jaycees and the Rusty Pipes band where he played trombone. He was a past convenience store owner, contractor, home inspector, Lowes sales associate and retail specialist for Carter Lumber in Westville, Indiana. Jim was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved those Green Bay Packers.

I was so sad to hear of Jim´s passing. Years have passed since I have seen Jim, but to have met him once, you were always welcomed again and again.
Jim came from a great family. He had a great sense of happiness, laughter, and joy.
Janet, David, and Sally, May you find peace in knowing that he may rest in eternal peace with your parents.

Jim was truly a unique individual, always wearing a smile and a kind word. I had the pleasure of working with Jim at both the former Portage Lowe's and the Michigan City Lowe's. Jim possessed a wealth of knowledge of many area of experience. He and I share a special work relationship. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Jim was a all around good guy and will be truly missing.
My deepest condolences go out to his wife and Family.
