Thomas Gentry Obituary

Thomas "Dale" Gentry, 73, of Florence, KY, formerly of Austin, TX, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Fields of Florence. Dale retired from CVG Airport Police and previously was Captain with Austin, TX Capital Police. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War, where he was a purple heart recipient. He was proud to serve his country and was extremely proud to go to the FBI National Academy. Dale was an avid OSU football and UK basketball fan. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and spending time with his family, whom he adored. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marge Gentry; his wife, Sherry Gentry; and his siblings David and Janice Kay Gentry. He is survived by his loving daughters, Ginger Kay Gentry and Misty (Jerry) McGonegle; and his siblings, Dennis (Kim) Gentry, Dean (Karen) Gentry, Doug Gentry, and Renee (Marty) Mayer; and his sister-in-law, Minnie Gentry. Dale was also the proud grandpa to Kylie Feltner, Hannah Jones, Thomas Jack Jones, Chase McGonegle, and Dylan McGonegle. Visitation will be on Monday December 9, 2024 from 9:00AM-10:30AM at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington, KY. He will be laid to rest next to Sherry at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
