Erich Marshall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 9, 2022.
Erich Marshall, 32 of Shamong NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022.

Erich was born on September 7th 1989, to Greg and Kathryn Marshall, in Pennsauken, NJ. Erich graduated from Cherokee High School in 2007 and went on to graduate Rutgers University in 2013, with a degree in Finance. Most recently, Erich was working as a union carpenter with Philadelphia Carpenters Local 158.

Erich met his soul mate, Sarah, at the young age of 15, and knew right away that he had found his forever love. Erich and Sarah married in September 2015 in Newtown, PA and their daughter, Nora Lorraine, was born the following spring. Erich was a caring and passionate husband to Sarah; he loved her as much as any man has loved a woman. He was an involved and loving father, and Nora always had his guidance.

Erich was a passionate person, and passions in his life went deep. He did not just scratch the surface; for Erich, if it was worth learning about, it was worth learning every detail.

Erich was a fan of sports, and he dove in head first with whichever team captured his interest in the moment. He went through phases. It started when he was a little kid with the Phillies. When he was a pre-teen, it was the Sixers, when he was in high school and college, the Flyers, and, as an adult, the Eagles always held the top spot, especially in 2017 when he got to celebrate their Super Bowl win with all of his friends and family.

Erich loved music. He adored the jam band, Phish, and could tell you about different renditions of songs, at different venues, and why each one was better than the last. He was a true PhishHead, and had the memorabilia, ticket stubs, and memories to prove it.

He loved to ride his dirt bike and quad, but could also take them apart, tell you which piece was which and why he needed to get a better part, for a little more speed or control. He also loved to hit a mountain with a snowboard, and learned how to do many tricks a casual rider would not dare.

As Erich matured and adventures slowed down, Erich turned his deep dive personality into those things that come with adulthood. He took working on the house and yard seriously and always had a project to keep him busy. Most recently, he was trying to nurture baby trees into strong and tough hardwoods that would grow and stand the test of time; Erich's trees will continue to grow and represent his toughness.

Like everything he did in life, Erich was 100% committed and invested in his relationships. If Erich cared about you and had your back, there was no one else you would rather have on your side. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Marshall; daughter, Nora Marshall; parents, Greg and Kathryn Marshall; brothers Joe (Lauren) Lafferty and Zach Marshall; in-laws, Stephen and Sheila Cohen; and sister and brother in law, Jenn Cohen (Tom Conroy). He will always be Uncle-E to Riley, Raelyn, Lilly, Harry, and Braden and devoted dad to his and Sarah's first child, Cali dog.

There will be a celebration of life held for Erich on Friday, June 17th from 5-9pm, with a tribute to be held at 8pm, at the Clubhouse in Marlton Lakes, 222 Lakeshore Drive in Marlton, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in support of Nora Marshall 's education via Venmo @Nora-Marshall-0907 or send a check directly to Nora Marshall.

Condolences to the whole family. I only just heard that Erich had passed. Although we only worked together for a short time, I hope I was a good "Mom" influence to you Erich. Thank you for being you. You made me laugh, you fixed my broken stuff, you helped me in numerous ways, but what I remember most is you rode in my car to Wawa and without a coat or boots, and in your work clothes you aired up all my tires on the coldest snowy day and you did it with laughter and grace. That is who you were. My friend. RIP luv u Tam

I considered Erich a brother to me. We grew up camping and spending time up Neshaminy on the 4th of July. Words seem shallow at this point but it is all I can offer. Erich will live in my memory for the rest of my time. I will miss him dearly.
