Damon Anastasia Obituary
His greatest pride was his beloved children, Lauren and Carter. He attended UCLA and B.C. Law School, graduating with honors from both institutions. Damon enjoyed a distinguished legal career and served as a Judge Pro Tempore in LA County, known for his considered understanding and fairness. He was an amazing friend, mentor, uncle, and brother.
Beloved son of Lola and Jack Anastasia, he is survived by his children, father, Jack Sr., and brothers Monty (Luda), Richard (Michael), and Jack (Katherine).
Damon's legacy is one of profound service and compassion.
A Rosary will be held on Feb. 15 at 6 pm at Cabot & Sons (Pasadena). Funeral Mass: Feb. 16, 11:00 am at St. Andrew Church (Pasadena) (Reception following). Burial: Feb. 17, 10:00 am at Holy Cross Cemetery (Culver City).
The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Giving.ucla.edu/UCLATransplant.

I am so saddened to hear this. Damon and I were classmates and he was a very good friend and brilliant student. I looked up to him even though we were the same age. Kind man with great sense of humor.

Damon helped me get settled in LA. I crashed on his couch when I was interviewing. He made the move thousands of miles from home less scary. I never said 'Thank you.' Thank you Damon.

Damon was a very good man. He was a kind mentor to so many including me when I was in law school and his roommate during his last year there. He was a true giver in every sense of the meaning. I am glad we had dinner in December when he was healthy and happy. I am so sad to lose a good friend.

Damon was not just a mentor to me, he was a trusted friend and role model. He loved and was so proud of his family and was an inspiration to me as a father. I met Damon as an alumni advisor to my Fraternity and he was the person who convinced me to go to law school. He attended my first trial to observe and support me, giving me so much confidence afterwards (even though we lost). He guided me through numerous professional and personal hurdles and I'll be forever grateful for his friendship and guidance. Rest in peace, Damon.
