William Angstadt Obituary

William "Will" Parker Angstadt, 52, passed away on February 18, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Mychelle Angstadt; his daughters, Alexis and Audrey Angstadt; his parents, Karen and Jeff Angstadt; his brothers, Doug and Brian Angstadt; Doug's family, Nicholas and Lily Angstadt; Brian's family, Holly and Violet Angstadt; his mother-in-law, Elsie Craig; his aunt and uncle, Susan and Ralph Viamontes; and many cousins.
Will loved his family and his many pets, and being around them was his favorite thing. Will was born in Miami, Florida, on May 9, 1972, and moved to Lake City, Florida, when he was 5 years old. He lived life to the fullest, creating unforgettable memories and causing mischief alongside his childhood best friend, Leif Hunt, as they grew up in Lake City. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1990 and joined the United States Army a few months afterward, serving as an aircraft structural repairman. While stationed in Germany, Will met and married his wife. They were married for 32 years at the time of his passing. In 2000, he was honorably discharged from the Army and moved back to Lake City with his family, where he lived ever since. Will received his associate degree from Lake City Community College in 2005 and his bachelor's degree from Saint Leo University in 2007. He had a deep love for cars and always had a project car he was working on with his dad and friends.
On April 30, 2015, Will was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a fatal motor neuron disease. Despite the challenges of ALS, he never stopped being his funny and stubborn self. He passed away due to complications from ALS in his home, surrounded by his family and friends, who offered him love and support.
A drop-by memorial service will be held at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, his family has asked that donations be made to Guardian ad Litem, as he loved being a guardian for children. Arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S. US HWY 441, Lake City, FL, 32025, 386-752-1954.
