Mission , Texas - Jean Metcalf (Greenwood), 93, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2021, in Mission, TX. A farewell graveside service will be held on March 12th, 2 p.m., at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.
Jean was born in Kansas City, KS on February 12, 1928, and graduated from Northeast High School in 1945. Jean married Fred Metcalf in 1947 and raised two children. She worked approximately 30 years for the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration in Kansas City. Jean and Fred enjoyed spending their retirement years in Bella Vista, AR and in Mission, TX where they settled permanently in 2014. Jean loved reading books, her animals, and being with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Frederick Hughes Metcalf, and their children, daughter Jean Loraine Hisel (Metcalf), and son Lawrence Arthur Metcalf. She is survived by her son-in-law, Alan Hisel, grandchildren, Angela Wallace (Matthew Wallace) and Joel Metcalf (Nani Verzon), and two great-grandchildren.
