Roscoe Bicknell Obituary

On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, Roscoe Gibbs Bicknell III, "Sandy," a beloved father, brother, and loving husband, passed away in Juneau, AK, at the age of 82. His parents were Leonice C. and Roscoe G. Bicknell, Jr. of Grafton, MA. He graduated from Worcester Academy in 1955 and following graduation, served in the United States Navy, based out of Quonset Point, RI. He moved to Alaska in 1982 with his wife Deborah and began his construction and development career in Juneau. He was joined by his son Roscoe G. Bicknell IV, "Spike," and they created Bicknell, Inc.

Sandy had a passion for adventure and was an avid sportsman with a vast array of hobbies. Sandy loved the outdoors and developed deep friendships throughout his life. As a masterful storyteller with a quick-witted sense of humor, he was adored by everyone he knew, both young and old.

Sandy is survived by his wife Deborah, his sister Charlotte Bicknell of Grafton, MA, and his three children from his first marriage. Roscoe G. Bicknell IV, "Spike" (wife, Sara) of Juneau, AK, Jean Bicknell Avery (husband, Steve) of Grafton, MA, and Lynne Bicknell Everling (husband, Scott) of Gig Harbor, WA. He was cherished by grandchildren: Zachary (wife, Angela), Jacob (wife, Megan), and Amanda Bicknell; Nicholas and Alexandra Avery; and Paige, Kate, and Leah Everling. He was especially lucky to be a great-grandfather to Jayce Jacob Bicknell.

A celebration of Sandy's life will be held at a later date.
