Elizabeth Temple Obituary

Being loved by so many, Elizabeth Ann Temple journeyed home to be with her Lord Jesus and join her twin girls in the early morning hours of October 19th, 2021 from her home in Priest River, Idaho. Liz was born January 16th, 1960 to John Merrill Gibson and Joan Carolyn Aggeler in Portland, Oregon. She lived a very full life of 60 years, loving family and friends everywhere she went.

She spent her early teens in Juneau, Alaska (including 3 years the family lived in Atlin, BC with step-
father Joseph (Joe) Ackermann), and graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School as Elizabeth Ackermann. She spent times of significant duration living in Juneau and Seward, AK, and in Scappoose and Hood River, OR, before living most recent in Priest River, ID.

In the top of her many highlights of life were her twin daughters, Melissa Joan Thorson and Jessica Donna Thorson born to her with their father Bryn Thorson on August 6th, 1982. They both had since
passed from auto accidents separately (1999 and 2006), but never left her thoughts. Acquainted with
this grief, it brought to light the deep love she carried for everyone she met.

Of Liz's many hobbies, she loved gardening, horse riding, rock collecting, bird watching, and of course - connecting with family, friends, and strangers! She was always known for her easy going and positive
attitude, with encouragement she brought to others.

She was a tremendous helper! Her employers varied in vocations of hospitality and accounting, while
always serving with her heart. Her heart with 'family' would frequently be found packing lunch for an
excursion, for example, organizing all the preparations... And with whimsical humor and witty truth -
she could explain "You deserve that...!" when your preparations didn't go as planned.

In her later years, living in Priest River, ID with husband Allen Temple, she enjoyed camping, jeep expeditions, quilt making in winter months, and the deepening of her faith, along with providing years of support through AA community meetings. Of borrowed quotes she called her own, this one she wrote from over a decade ago - "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans," and another of recent – "Just do the next right thing."

With deep sorrow of her passing, immediate family left behind and missing her include: husband Allen
Temple, step-daughter Melisse Gardner, step-daughter Alder McKenzie, older sister Virginia Stoll with
her husband Tim, younger brothers Keith Gibson with his wife Cyndy, Paul Gibson, and Ernie Ackermann with his wife Emily. There are innumerable cousins, nieces, nephews, and very dear close friends that have been touched by Liz's love, and will dearly miss her!

You are invited to attend a Celebration of Life ceremony in the sanctuary at The Shrine of St. Therese, located at 21425 Glacier Hwy, Juneau, AK 99801 (about mile 22 'out the road'). The ceremony will begin at 12:00 Noon on August 13th, 2022. An informal gathering to celebrate her life will directly follow the ceremony, at the 'Jubilee' cabin on the premises.
