Terry Decker Obituary

Terry Lynn Decker passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm at the age of 59 on June 29, 2022, at Swedish Hospital in Denver CO. She was a long time resident of the Sterling area. Terri was born on January 30, 1963 to Eugene and Dolly (Turner) Decker in Greeley Colorado. She attended schools in the area graduating from NJC with an associates degree in art. She lived in Texas, Calif. and Washington before returning to Sterling and working at the Village Inn for 22 years. Known for being quick witted and true to her word,Terri was a hard working, honest person who wasn't afraid to speak her mind. Patriotism was one of her favorite topics. Big at heart, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. Terri loved the outdoors, especially hiking and rock hunting. An avid artist, she excelled at painting everything from pictures to murals. She enjoyed gazing at the stars, solving mind puzzles, reading and listening to podcasts about crime mysteries. Terri's survived by her sister Jackie Decker, step brothers Stanley Jr., David and Chris Decker, brother- in- law Bill Loft, niece Stacy Loft, cousins Karren, Johnny and Linda and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Oran Canada, her parents, sister Diane Loft and nephew Jeff Loft. A potluck and celebration of life will be held on July 23 at 10:30 AM at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 421 S. 11th Ave., in Sterling.
