Father Jim became a friend in the 1950’s when he was stationed at St Augustine’s in Troy NY. That friendship continued for over 60 years. He always returned to the area for the important events in my family. He was part of a group from Troy who vacationed together every year. We jokingly called ourselves the “Cocoons”. He never missed a trip. He devoted himself to his chosen life and was a true example of goodness to us all. My heart is heavy with sadness knowing he is gone, sending my deepest sympathy to Mildred, Eugene and family.

My deepest sympathy to Fr. Jim's
family. I met him as a 6 year old at St. Augustine's, Troy in 1969. We grew up with him. He was our guiding force in CYO, on fields of play, in church and in school. He loved people, and people of all ages truly loved him! He remained a beloved and faithful friend for life. He will be missed more than words can say. May he rest in peace.

As others have said, he was a rock for our family, starting with baptizing both of our children (now adults). It was an honor to serve on the Stewardship Committee and the Finance Committee of OMGC with him at the helm, so to speak. I learned so much from him, just by watching how he conducted himself. Our deepest sympathy to Father Jim's family, the Augustinian Community and the OMGC parish. I will never forget when he announced at Mass that our son was receiving his "Frist Holy Communion in his own parish", as our son received the first a week earlier at his school chapel. We will sorely miss this great and humble servant. Nancy Frantz and Family

On behalf of my mother Loretta Lynch and uncle James Lynch, their children and extended family, I want to thank Father Jim for all the special moments we shared throughout the years. You were always there in times of sorry as well as the many joyful memories we shared. You touched all our lives in such a special way.
It was an honor to call you family and friend. You will be sadly missed. May you rest in peace with the angels.

I am so deeply saddened to learn of Fr. Jim's passing. His humility, his faith, and his devotion to OMGC parish have left an indelible mark on hundreds of students and their families. Fr. Jim, you truly made a difference in so many lives. We are all blessed to have known you. May the angels lead you to Paradise, and sing you to your rest.

Fr. Jim was a rock and foundation in the lives of myself, my husband and our 3 daughters. I have known Fr Jim since I was a single woman teaching Sunday school at OMGC and he shepherded me and my future family through many difficult times. He was there in times of great joy - when he married us and in times of great sorrow when he presided over my mothers funeral mass.
A humbler man I have never known. A true servant of our Lord and an enduring light for so many he touched and who came to know and love him. A gentle spirit who moved through life in a quiet yet very powerful way. We will miss you Fr. Jim but know we have an angel in heaven we can all pray to. May you Rest In Peace.
